At the start of December last year my boyfriend and I had a little trip over to the North of Africa to the affluently traditional country of Morocco.
We stayed at the Eden Andolou Hotel and Spa which is just outside of Marrakesh, a very very lovely hotel with friendly staff all round. The selling point for the hotel was definitely the views... look for yourself. The Atlas Mountains were literally on our doorstep. Can't complain.

We ate so much lovely food at the hotel and found a new obsession for a certain fruit juice. Peach juice... oh lord its good!
Exploring and seeing new things being the point of this trip we had a few trips into Marrakesh to the markets, where we both bought some lovely unique things. I got a beautiful pashmina ( I found it rather amusing that the label said Pashmina - 100% Pashmina! ) for equivalent £8 and a lovely necklace made of amber stones for £23. The spices on sale here were amazing and every turn of the Souks hit you with tingling smells, not forgetting the rotten fish.
Bearing adventure in mind we hired a car for two days and took a long drive into the amazing Atlas Mountains. I have to say some of the sights here were the most breathtaking scenes I have ever come across. However, I swear we nearly got mugged on more than one occasion. The locals are not exactly friendly and the men drool at the mouth within the slightest notion of even a glimpse of a boob - covered in layers of clothing or not. "Hey Lady! you want sex?!" is not exactly what you want to hear while minding your own business... you wouldn't get that in Scotland.
The trip was definitely worthwhile although I don't think i will be returning any time soon. Perhaps another continent will take my fancy...
